Komaza is seeking driven, top-performing talent to lead our vision of establishing Africa's largest forestry company in partnership with smallholder farmers. We have designed a unique, rigorous process to see if there's a great match. Past applicants have reported that this process is longer and more time-intensive than other companies', but in exchange for that time, they get deep exposure to imagine and evaluate what it would be like to work with the Komaza team in this new role. We have found that this process has had a huge positive impact on our team, and has increased both promotion and retention rates of selected candidates. But it's not for everyone - we recognize there are fantastic contributors out there that might not have time to join us in this journey. Please review the below. We have a strong preference for CVs that are 1 page or less, representing only the top experiences that are most relevant to the role you are applying for, rather than a comprehensive list of your entire professional history. Please note, we often received hundreds - and sometimes thousands - of CVs for each role, and have been consistently impressed with level and breadth of talent who apply. Unfortunately, only a handful of candidates can be selected, so we are often unable to proceed candidates that have great work experience.
The technical assignment is your opportunity to step into a day in the life of the role! Each work assignment is crafted to identify opportunities for you to showcase your strengths and your skills as they directly relate to the position you’ve applied for. While these technical deliverables can sometimes be challenging, they are also often an exciting activity for candidates who already have an intuitive sense that this particular role and this innovative company is right for them.
As part of the interview process you may be invited to a series of calls with our team. These calls are a chance for us to get you excited about Komaza and our current opportunities, and many include a case-based interview.
For our Nairobi-based candidates, the Nairobi Day is your first chance to meet members of the Komaza team in-person. During the Nairobi Day, you will receive a detailed briefing on role and its important contributions to the exciting strategic and operational goals of the company. Please come prepared for both additional technical assessments as well as a one-on-one interview. There will also be opportunities for you to ask any questions you have about the position, the team and department, Komaza as a company, and Kilifi as a place to live.
The top candidates for each role are invited to visit us in beautiful Kilifi! During this all-expenses-paid trip to the Kenyan coast, you will get the chance to interact with your future supervisor and team, as well as spend a day at the office and tour the town. Although these visits can be quite intense, they are an excellent opportunity for candidates to get to know what it would be like to work and live in Kilifi. You’ll have a full day of office and town tours, interactions with your future team over lunch and in meetings, and one-on-one discussions with members of the management team where we can get to know you better and answer additional questions in person.
